Roadmap to Recovery and Re-opening of Indoor Pools

The Aquatics and Recreation Institute (ARI) NSW welcomed the re-opening of outdoor pools today in stay at home areas and areas of concern.

Whilst we recognise that today has marked an important milestone for the sector’s re-opening, we acknowledge there is confusion and anxiety on a range of issues, including on the revised Roadmap to Recovery and the proposed re-opening of indoor pools on 1 December 2021.

ARINSW has sought urgent clarification from the Office of the NSW Minister for Health, NSW Health, and the Office of Sport, as to when indoor pools can reopen.

We have also reinforced that there will be a significant financial impact on operators and severe challenges impacting the sector’s workforce if indoor pools are to remain shut until the first day of summer.

We have received a lot of enquiries from members seeking clarity and guidance over the past few days. Feel free to contact us by email at info@arinsw.com.au should you have any queries.

We will continue to keep our members updated so as to facilitate the successful re-opening of outdoor and indoor facilities.
