NEW Swim Teacher Course by Royal Life Saving

Swim Teacher by Royal Life Saving is a brand new training solution that was developed at the request of the NSW Department of Education to assist school teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge in delivering school-based aquatic education programs.

Royal Life Saving has now expanded the program for general industry consumption in direct response to participation deficits caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and other factors.

They are offering Fully subsidised training opportunities to job seekers across NSW as part of the NSW Governments Skilling for Recovery program.

The Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher course provides candidates with skills and knowledge to effectively and safely teach swimming and water safety skills to school aged children. 

The course includes a self paced online course to start, followed up by a 1 day face to face practical workshop and on-the-job work experience.

Candidates will receive a statement of attainment for the SISSS00112 - Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Skillset:

  • SISCAQU008- Instruct water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills 
  • SISCAQU010- Instruct swimming strokes    
  • SISCAQU009- Instruct water safety and survival skills       
  • SISCAQU002- Perform basic water rescues. ​

PLUS 

  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and
  • RLS Swim Teacher License (valid for 3 years).
