ARI Webinar - Conflict resolution & Leadership

On Thursday 11 November 2021 at 12pm we will be hosting the second in our series of webinars.

Join a panel of industry leaders as we talk through the current challenges facing the industry from the perspective of both our teams and customers.

The panel will answer questions that have been provided to the board as well as a list of questions prepared by the ARI Young Leaders Advisory Group.

The questions cover topics that range from how the sector has dealt with challenging customers, enforcing government restrictions and supporting our front lines as well as the next steps and challenges facing the industry’s recovery.

The panel will share their thoughts, tools and tips that will talk to leading teams through these challenging times as well as hard skills that front line customer facing team members can use!

Meet the Panel:

ALEX SIMMONS

One of our panel members will be Alex Simmons- State Manager Guest Experience and ARI Board Member.

Alex has worked in the fitness, leisure and recreation sectors for 20 years, leading teams both in Australia and internationally.

Alex is passionate about empowering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and navigating businesses through change, transitions and growth.

Alex grounds all his work in starting with developing meaningful relationships and trust with teams and customers alike.

 

NICHOLAS HOYNES

Another panel member is Nicholas Hoynes- ARI Young Leaders Advisory Group Member.

Nicholas has been involved in the aquatic and recreation sector since 2001, including working across varying facility sizes, types, locations and management structures. He is currently the Aquatic & Leisure Facilities Coordinator for the Bega Valley Shire Council.

Nicholas is driven to create a positive and inclusive industry that motivates people to participate in and engage with their local facilities, whether as a participant or an employee. He is passionate about the important role aquatic facilities play in local communities, particularly in rural and regional areas.

 

BROOKE ATKINS

Brooke Atkins who is the Executive Leader Business Delivery and Support Y NSW is one of our panel members.

Brooke has worked in the community and recreation industry for over 19 years, specialising in strategic and business management in a range of setting including Government, Profit for Purpose and NGOs. Brooke currently leads the business delivery portfolio of the Y NSW overseeing recreation, camping and children services operations as well as business development, growth, product, marketing and innovation.

Brooke is passionate about leading dynamic teams to positively engage and impact the wellbeing of local communities, in particular regional areas driving for improvements to access to integrated health initiatives.
