NSW Health has officially released the Guidelines for Managing Water Quality in Public Swimming Pools and Spa Pools (2026). Replacing the previous 2013 Advisory Document.
The updated guidelines provide practical guidance to aquatic facility operators on managing water quality risks and supporting compliance with the Public Health Act 2010 and Public Health Regulation 2022.
While the guidelines are not mandatory under NSW legislation, they provide an important reference for maintaining safe aquatic environments and reflect current Australian and international practices.
