Suellen Goyne has concluded her tenure with ARI NSW, having contributed her time, experience and leadership to the organisation and the broader aquatic and recreation industry.

The ARI NSW Board of Directors acknowledges Suellen's commitment and service to the organisation and extends its appreciation for her contribution throughout her time on the Board.

Suellen Goyne said:

“I am proud to have contributed to ARI NSW and to an industry that plays such an important role in the health, wellbeing and connection of our communities. Leading a volunteer organisation requires commitment from many people, and I would like to thank the members, sponsors, volunteers and fellow Directors who have supported ARI NSW throughout my tenure. I wish the organisation continued success as it enters its next chapter.”

Following Suellen's resignation, the Board of Directors formally voted to appoint current Director Brad Vella as Chairperson, effective immediately.

Brad brings close to 20 years of experience across the aquatic and recreation industry, with a background spanning aquatic facility management, industry training, safety, technology and sector advocacy.

Having previously served as Chair of the ARI NSW Young Leaders Advisory Group (YLAG) and more recently as a Director of the organisation, Brad has maintained a strong commitment to industry development, collaboration and creating opportunities for the next generation of aquatic and recreation professionals.

Incoming Chairperson Brad Vella said:

"I would like to sincerely thank Suellen for her contribution to ARI NSW and the time and commitment she has dedicated to the organisation since 2024.”

"It is a privilege to be appointed Chairperson of ARI NSW, an organisation with a proud history of supporting, connecting and recognising the people and organisations that make up our industry.

"As we look ahead, my focus will be on strengthening engagement with our members, sponsors and industry stakeholders, building meaningful partnerships and ensuring ARI NSW continues to deliver genuine value to the sector.”

"We have an incredibly passionate and experienced Board, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow Directors to build on the organisation's foundations and continue moving ARI NSW forward."

The leadership transition comes as ARI NSW continues to strengthen its industry engagement, advocacy and professional development initiatives, while building on the success of its annual Industry Conference and Awards of Excellence.

With a continued focus on collaboration, industry representation and supporting the next generation of leaders, ARI NSW remains committed to its role in advancing the aquatic and recreation industry across New South Wales.
