WINNER: CHRISTIAN RYAN
The winner of the 2021 ARI LIFEGUARD AWARD is Christian Ryan from Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre, West HQ.
The Lifeguard award recognises commitment and dedication of a pool lifeguard for their development of skills, level of training and service toward performing their duties.
For over a decade Christian Ryan has continued to be a committed Lifeguard and Pool Operator. Christian Ryan joined Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre in 2019.
He is very skilful when following sequences and procedures, particularly with spinal, CPR and first aid. He is always thinking of new ideas on how to engage more with the community and getting them to participate in aquatic activities.
Christian recently developed and delivered a ‘Lil Lifeguard’ and water safety course for the vacation care program. Going through rescues and CPR with the kids allowed him to build rapport with the customers.
Christian is the friendly face on the pool deck at Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre for West HQ.
