The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to prepare, coach, instruct and contribute to the development and delivery of swim coaching, learn to swim programs and the operation of BVSC managed swimming pools.

As the Swim Development Coach, you will collaborate to improve, develop and deliver programs and provide mentoring to other staff delivering squad training and learn to swim programs. You will build positive relationships with the community to promote programs available and perform customer service / reception duties as required. 

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a Swimming Australia Development Coach (Bronze Licence) and industry registration as well as a minimum of two years swim coaching and instruction experience.

You will have the following skills and experience;

• Strong communication skills with the ability to relate positively to children, parents, adults and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare and implement squad training and learn to swim programs.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to program changes including program times, program type, ability, group size and composition.
• Developed understanding and knowledge of learn to swim and swim coaching principles.

This is a permanent part-time position working 25 hours per week. Remuneration is $1168.30 (paid pro-rata) per week, plus 10% employer superannuation contribution.

This position requires applicants to be suitably immunised in line with recommendations from the Australian Immunisation Handbook, currently mandated Public Health Orders and/or Councils Immunisation Procedure.

• Level 2/Senior/Apply/Provide First Aid
• Current Provide/Perform CPR
• Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety / Swim Australia Teacher
• Development Swimming Coach Accreditation
• National Police / Criminal History Check
• Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
• Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria

• Pool Lifeguard Award
