Location: Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde
Macquarie University are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Learn to Swim Coordinator to lead and oversee the Learn to Swim program through the design, development and delivery of innovative learn to swim programs for all ages, with a focus on maximising participants skill progression, engagement and retention.
Coordination of the day-to-day operation of the MUSAC’s Learn to Swim program, including recruitment, induction, rostering and other operational requirements to ensure program is operating efficiently and effectively to ensure all service needs are being met
Working with the Aquatic Program Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase participation across all demographics, including adults, students, and new program areas
Provide leadership and ongoing direction and instruction to the learn to swim team to ensure, a culture of accountability and cohesiveness aligned with U@MQ’s vision and values
Provide training and guidance to Learn to Swim staff aligned to industry best practice
In consultation with the Aquatic Programs Manager, review staffing and program delivery to ensure optimal utilisation that meets the needs of the business, and provide recommendations as required
Foster a customer-centric culture that prioritises engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Manage and resolve customer enquiries or complaints in a timely manner, escalating any unresolved matters as required.
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the centre's Emergency Action Plan
Comply with relevant Child Safety Policies, EEO and WHS regulations

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multi-purpose venue. Located at Wallumattagal Campus, our facility includes a 6-lane heated indoor pool, and an 8-lane outdoor heated Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Demonstrated ability in building, leading and managing a successful and effective learn to swim program, including overseeing the operational, staffing and financial requirements of the program
Demonstrated capacity to grow Aquatics programs such as Learn to Swim, Adults, Infants and Preschool programs
Demonstrated experience coordinating a large learn to swim program in a multi-use facility.
Ability to administer rosters, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet the demands of program delivery
Proven experience leading and managing a diverse team, providing direction and feedback
Demonstrated experience in managing costs and leading service focussed teams
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders across ages, abilities, and cultures, and handle sensitive matters with discretion
Demonstrated ability to handle customer service matters and complaints
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Must be available to work on a rotating roster seven (7) days per week.
Current First Aid & CPR, WWCC
AUSTSWIM/SCTA or RLS Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification (SISSS00132)
AUSTSWIM/SCTA or RLS Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics extension (SISCAQU027)
Available to work out of hours and weekend work
AUSTSWIM or SCTA Teacher Towards Competitive Strokes extension and/or SCTA Development Coach certification
AUSTSWIM or SCTA Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion extension (SISCAQU028)
Swim Teacher Assessor qualification
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122)
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use and application of CRM system (Envibe)
