Role Overview

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and ensuring public safety across our multiple leisure centres including the Sutherland Leisure Centre, Caringbah Leisure Centre, Engadine Leisure Centre, and Como Pool.

Key Responsibilities

As the Duty Officer - Aquatics, you will:

  • Provide on-site day-to-day supervision of lifeguards, ensuring that public safety and lifeguard standards are maintained
  • Utilise your expertise in pool operations, plant maintenance and hygiene standards to maintain high-quality facilities in compliance with NSW Health Guidelines
  • Maintain all relevant records onsite to adhere to industry standards and guidelines
  • Ensure all WH&S procedure checklists and inspections are completed
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment whilst delivering an exceptional customer experience for all patrons

 

Your Profile

If you are motivated, reliable, possess excellent communication skills and passionate about aquatic safety and customer service, Sutherlandshire Council want to hear from you! 

  • Senior First Aid Certificate, Pool Lifeguard Licence (RLSS), and Pool Operations Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising staff in a customer-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of water treatment, hygiene standards, and NSW Health Regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve operational goals.
  • Have a strong background in aquatics and facility management, with a focus on safety and customer service

  • Package: From $70,700 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Permanent full - time position 38 hours per week, 9 day fortnight. Available to work a 7 day spread of hours between 4:30am and 9:00pm to support the operational requirements of our Centres.
