The Role
Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) has an opportunity for a qualified individual to perform and lead the delivery of pool operations, supervision, programming and customer service at Bega War Memorial Pool (seasonal) and Council managed facilities (as required), according to BVSC requirements.
As Bega War Memorial Supervisor, you will liaise with Operations Team Leader regarding BVSC facility maintenance, operations, equipment and water quality requirements as well as liaise with Aquatic Services Team Leader regarding administration, bookings, promotion, rostering and stock management. You will assist in supervising and implementing training and induction of staff working at BVSC aquatic facility/s.

Key Accountabilities
- Assist with and contribute to aquatic facilities operations and maintenance planning
- Contribute to planning and complete pre-season commissioning and post-decommissioning of seasonal facilities
- Perform operations, maintenance, and cleaning of aquatic facilities
- Assist with training staff in the safe operations and maintenance of aquatic facilities
- Assist with identification and control of hazards and risks in the aquatic facility environment
- Monitor chemicals, safety data sheets (SDS) and PPE
- Perform role of Duty Officer in Coordinator/Supervisor absence
- Assist with lifeguard staff induction, training and workplace supervision
- Monitor and perform lifeguard emergency management and first aid duties
- Maintain lifeguard, emergency response and first aid equipment
- Monitor and complete documentation for aquatic facility inspections and reports as required
- Provide information and advice to stakeholders
Essential Skills and Qualifications
BVSC are seeking an individual who holds the following qualifications and licences;
- Certificate IV in Sports, Aquatics & Recreation (desirable)
- SISSS00111 - Pool Lifeguard Certificate and current RLSNSW Pool Lifeguard Licence
- RLSNSW Approved Workplace Supervisor (or ability to obtain)
- SISSS00112 - Swimming & Water Safety Teacher Qualification & Current Industry Registration
- SISSS00131 - Aquatic Technical Operator (desirable)
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Unit of Competency)
- HLTAID011 - Provide first aid (Unit of Competency)
- NSW Working with Children check
- Current NSW Class C Drivers Licenc
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with customers.
- Demonstrated experience in aquatic facility customer service, administration and supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the safe operation, cleaning and maintenance of aquatic facilities.
- Ability to provide appropriate pool supervision, first aid and emergency assistance for safe facility operation.
Benefits
This is a fixed term full time position working 38 hours per week for a period of 24 months, with the option for a 12 month extension.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $85,148.44 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,475.20 per week base salary
- $162.27 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
