This is a great opportunity for qualified, friendly and skilled Aquatic Compliance Officer to join the Belgravia Leisure team and lead their aquatics team!

The Role

The Aquatics Compliance Officer will oversee all aspects of the centre’s operations and major focus on Risk, Compliance and Work Health and Safety. The Aquatics Compliance Officer’s role is a combination of day-to-day hands-on involvement in managing health and safety and centre maintenance including reactive and preventative maintenance. You will assist the Aquatic Operations Manager in identifying risks and appropriate controls to execute plans through engagement with the leadership team and key stakeholders.

You will have a strong operational experience and you will continue to drive a safe and enjoyable aquatics and operational experience of our guests. 

The Aquatic Compliance Officer's key accountabilities include:

  • Execution of Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Assist the Centre Manager to investigate incidents
  • Ensure the physical appearance of the site is faultless and ensure the site is maintained to the highest safety standards
  • Ensure all equipment is in good condition including pool plant equipment
  • Be responsible for the Centre's RLS NSW Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment, and associated corrective action plans
  • Be responsible for the Centre's WHS audits, WHS Committee and adhering to WHS Legislation at all times
  • Ensure all staff adhere to OHS processes and management systems provided by Belgravia Leisure and legislative regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate behaviours that are consistent with the Belgravia Leisure C.L.E.A.R. Values

You will also be overseeing the supervision of Lifeguards and behaviours align with the GSPO and operations manuals at the venue including;

  • Lifeguard deployment
  • Lifeguard supervision techniques
  • Lifeguard Mystery Shopper processes and reporting.

About You

To be considered for this role you must have a ‘can do’ attitude, high energy and an exceptional work ethic. 

The ideal candidate will know how to work in a team, and assist in creating a team environment that will facilitate a great team performance. You have experience in leading teams to achieve collective and individual targets and have strong communication skills that build rapport and positive relationships. Ideally you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar aquatics and operations position and proven experience as a swim teacher, lifeguard, duty manager and/ or leader of safety.

 About the Qualifications

  • Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
  • Current CPR
  • Current Working with Children Check (or equivalent)
  • Current National Police Check
  • Pool operators certificate
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • Swim Teaching Certificate
  • Previous management / leadership experience in similar role
